Research the program, not only the ranking

Use the Korean government’s Study in Korea search to explore universities, courses and scholarship information. Then verify current details directly with the university because admissions information and availability can change.

For every program on your shortlist, confirm:

• teaching language for lectures, assessments and placements;
• academic and language-test requirements;
• curriculum, credit structure and graduation conditions;
• tuition, housing, insurance and other compulsory costs;
• application rounds, document format and submission deadlines.

If you are considering a Korean-language pathway, allow realistic time to develop the level needed for academic study and daily life. For an English-taught program, check how much Korean is still useful for internships, administration and community participation.

Prepare applications carefully

Universities set their own admissions requirements and schedules. The official Study in Korea admissions guidance is a useful starting point, but the chosen university’s current notice is the final reference. Academic documents may require specific certification, translation or submission procedures, so do not leave verification until the deadline.

Scholarships and budget

Compare scholarship eligibility, renewal conditions and what the award actually covers. Build a budget that remains workable if a scholarship is partial or not renewed, including tuition, housing, meals, travel and an emergency reserve.
