To study in Canada from Nepal, choose the program and institution together, verify the current study-permit requirements and build a funding plan that does not depend on part-time work. Check the institution and program

A post-secondary institution must appear on Canada’s official Designated Learning Institution list for it to host international students. A letter of acceptance from a DLI is normally needed for a study-permit application.

Being a DLI does not mean every program leads to the same post-study option. Use the official list to check the campus and whether the specific program is shown as potentially eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit. Then verify all current PGWP eligibility requirements, including any language or field-of-study rule that applies to your situation.

Compare:

• program curriculum, credential and duration;
• campus, intake and delivery format;
• academic and English entry requirements;
• tuition, compulsory fees and refund policy;
• placements, licensing or additional checks;
• whether the program supports your academic and career direction.

Build the cost plan before applying

Use the institution’s official fee schedule for your intake and program. Budget separately for housing, food, transport, health coverage, books, clothing, travel and emergencies.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada requires evidence that applicants can cover tuition, living expenses and transportation without working in Canada. Its official proof of financial support guidance contains the current amounts and acceptable evidence. Because these figures can change, verify them when preparing the application rather than copying a fixed number from an old guide.

Prepare the admission application

Requirements differ by institution and program. Students may need:
